Brief Description:  Left wing leading edge part #14

The session almost started in disaster. I unclecoed the leading edge from the spar and then unscrewed all of the tank screws and was going to just lef the tank first, then lift off the leading edge. Well, the tank was semi stuck onto the spar with proseal...I used a little hand force to get the tank off and suddenly, it popped up and my leading edge started to fall!!!

I quickly grabbed the leading edge with my left hand before it came crashing to the floor and then the tank started to go. Try balancing both the tank and leading edge in both hands...not fun.

I was able to keep the leading edge from hitting the floor (mere inches) and got the tank seated with my right hand. No damage!!! Lesson learned.

Went on to riveting the leading edge to the spar after blowing the spar clean from particles. I riveted the leading edge skins first, then onto the ribs. I used pop rivets for the rib flange to spar instead of the solid rivets as it is acceptable here. It sure is tight in that area.

I'll finish the dimpling of the ribs on the top side, prep, prime and dimple the skins and get my bucking partner Lauren back up to speed with here trigger finger!
